ONE BIG MOOSE — Herschel Smith of Mars Hill, middle, bagged this 600-pound cow moose early in the season during the Crop Protection Moose Hunt. Smith felled the animal with a .270 rifle while  hunting in Presque Isle with his grandsons Zach Smith of Westfield (far right) and Bryan Bubar of Littleton (left). Standing in front is great-grandson Gage Bubar of Littleton.
