Scott Dow, Caribou Firefighter/CEMT-P (critical-care emergency medical technician/paramedic), has been working with the Caribou Fire Department as a paid-call member for three years. As a FF/CCEMT-P, Firefighter Scott, 33, is certified to accompany patients who must be transferred by Medical Air Flights to medical facilities outside the immediate area.
“I decided to become involved with the CFD during the time I came here as an EMS student and saw the differences between fire and hospital based EMS,” stated Dow.
When not at the Caribou Fire Department, Firefighter Scott is employed full-time as a certified surgical technician/first assistant (CST/FA) at Cary Medical Center. He had his wife, Angela reside in Caribou and they have two children. Interests outside of the fire service and medical field for the local firefighter include hunting and fishing.
Firefighter Scott would like the community to seriously consider that, “Fire safety is very important.”
