LIMESTONE — The snow rarely waits for the season in Aroostook County, so why should the season wait for the snow? Whether Mother Nature decides to get into the Christmas spirit or not, the town of Limestone with be kicking off the Yuletide cheer with their annual Christmas Light Parade on Saturday, Nov. 28.     This year’s colorfully illuminated trek through the streets will begin winding its way around town at 6:30. Line up and registration begin at 5 p.m.
Like last year, parade sponsors are working with participants and encouraging the public to participate in the annual Toys for Tots program through the Limestone Fire Department.
A member of the Limestone Fire Department will be highly visible on an ATV ready to collect new, unwrapped toys donated by parade spectators for the Toys for Tots program.
Following the parade, Santa will be making a special trip down from the North Pole to light the Limestone Christmas tree on the corner of Main Street and Access Highway and there will be caroling.
Prizes for the Christmas Light Parade include $100 cash for best theme, $100 cash for best lights, and a WAGM advertising voucher worth $175 for winner of the best business float.
The parade is sponsored by the Greater Limestone Chamber of Commerce, Hometown Fuels, Caldwell Auto LLC and BLVDgraphix..
