The high school hockey and basketball season kicks off Friday night with several games to be played around the region.
WHOU-FM 100.1 will be broadcasting games again this season, with play-by-play commentator Ken Holck and color man Rob Moran, along with a host of guests.
Holck, in his 12th year, will be on the air with the start of the season through the Eastern Maine Tournament, covering girls’ and boys’ games from Houlton, Hodgdon, Southern Aroostook, Greater Houlton Christian Academy and Central Aroostook.
The coverage will also include Katahdin, Easton, Ashland, Washburn, Fort Fairfield and Presque Isle during the tournament, as well as a few other select regular season games involving these teams. Fort Fairfield games will be broadcast on WBCQ, along with WHOU during the tournament.
Games will be streamed with no charge online at the listen live link on WHOU-FM Web site.
