Caribou – Reginald J. Johndro, 68, died January 21, 2010, at a local hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Caribou January 21, 1942, one of sixteen children born to the late Adolphus and Annie (Page) Johndro. Mr. Johndro was a long-time member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was also a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was currently employed by the Caribou School Department where he served as custodian of the Caribou Middle School for over 40 years. He married Dorena (Belanger) Johndro who predeceased him April 2008.
He is survived by his son, Rodney Johndro of Limestone; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and James Wright of Pleasureville, KY; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Barbara Johndro and Norman and Verna Johndro all of Limestone; two sisters, Joan Johndro of Caribou and Cecile Stevens of Troy, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Austin Hilton and Timothy Wright; many nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 6-8 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2010, from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Fr. Raymond Morency, officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
