Final Big East stats
The final statistics for Big East Conference basketball during the 2009-10 season have been released, and Presque Isle players are at the top in five different categories.
Wildcat junior Travis Dyer was first in both free throw percentage (81.13 percent) and three-point field goal percentage (42.86 percent) to lead the way on the boys side.
Presque Isle sophomore Kayla Richards led girls players in free throw percentage at 70.18. Freshman Chandler Guerrette was No. 1 in three-point field goal percentage at 41.3 and sophomore Chelsea Nickerson claimed the top spot in steals at 5.11 per contest.
On the boys side, Dyer was also fourth in scoring at 13.39 points per game and fifth in steals at 1.67 per game. Junior teammate Oliver Zubrick was second in field goal percentage (60.49), while senior Nate Ackerson was sixth (54.26).
In rebounding, Zubrick was eighth at 5.72 per game and senior Ethan Braley was 10th at 5.33 per game. Ackerson was fourth in steals at 1.76 per game and senior Dillon Kingsbury was tied for eighth in that category at 1.44 per game.
Kingsbury was ninth in assists at 2.67 per game, while Ackerson was 10th at 2.47 per game.
For girls, Guerrette was also sixth in the conference in scoring at 10.39 ppg. Richards was eighth at 10 ppg.
For free throw shooting, Guerrette was seventh at 61.97 percent and Nickerson was eighth at 61.54 percent.
Freshman Karlee Bernier was fifth in three-point field goal percentage (34 percent). Guerrette was third in steals at 3 per game and Richards was eighth at 2.28 per game.
Richard placed fifth in assists at 2.78 per contest.
The Big East senior all-star games will be held Saturday, March 6 at Hermon High School. The girls will tip off at 1 p.m. and the boys at 3 p.m. Also that day, player of the year, coach of the year, all-conference teams, all-defensive, all-academic, spirit and sportsmanship awards will be presented.
