A 5K run and a 2-mile walk will be held to raise awareness about sexual violence in Aroostook County on Saturday, April 24, starting with the walk at 9:45 a.m. and the run at 10 a.m. The entry fee, which includes a T-shirt is $5 for children 12 and under; $10 for participants 12-64 and $5 for seniors over 65.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. in the community room at the Millar Civic Center. Participants will have access to changing/restrooms.
The course starts at Millar Civic Center in Houlton’s Community Park, with the turnaround on the Foxcroft Road. Complete information will be provided on race day. Guards will be in place to direct runners/walkers through the 5K or 2-mile course.
At the end of the race, a Cupcake Award Ceremony will take place around 11:15 a.m., with complimentary cupcakes for all participants.
Awards will be given to the first five walkers to cross the finish line, while awards will be given in the 5K race in the following divisions, male and female, 14 and under; 15-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59 and 60 and older.
