Mary Coffin, FNP, recently joined Daniel Fowler, MD; Nadine Lamoreau, FNP; and Angela Buck, FNP, at The Aroostook Medical Center’s Fort Fairfield Health Center. Coffin, a well-known expert on diabetes, has been working in the health care field since 1979 as a diabetes nurse educator, clinical nursing instructor and operating room nurse.

She is a passionate advocate for patients with diabetes.
“[One] third of those individuals with diabetes have not even been diagnosed,” she said. “Before they get it under control, diabetics don’t feel as well as they can. I enjoy being able to help people feel better.”
Coffin provides primary care for those with diabetes and helps patients who already have a primary care provider to manage their diabetes. Although her focus is on diabetes, she also welcomes those who do not have the disease into her practice.
She has practiced locally for many years. Coffin has been a certified diabetes educator since 1995 and is also a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and American Association of Diabetes Educators.
Coffin is now accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment or to learn more, contact Fort Fairfield Health Center at 768-4753.
