Slideshow takes 36 CAHS graduates
back through the years
Special to The Star-Herald
The Central Aroostook High School gymnasium was filled in Mars Hill for Graduation activities on June 11 as the 36 members of the Class of 2010 graduated. Mrs. Wendy Grass played the Prelude and Processional as Class Marshal Zach Amnott led the class of 2010 into the auditorium. Class Vice President Rachel Donovan welcomed friends and family to the commencement activities. Aryn Bernier sang “Will You Remember Me“ before a slide presentation by Brianna and Chelsea Hartin was given. Lauren Antworth read a poem selection.
Watching the slides of the graduating seniors through the years was both enjoyable and a bit sad at the realization that they had reached a milestone in their lives and from this day forward, things were going to change.
Valedictorian Brianna and Salutatorian Chelsea Hartin spoke to the crowd, often switching between serious and comedic speech. Twin sisters, best friends, finishing within a fraction of each other in class standings and so much alike that they often finish each others sentences — they spoke of moving to Mars Hill before their sophomore year and being welcomed by everyone. They thanked their teachers, coaches, friends, sister Courtney, grandparents and parents for all the support given to them both. They also credited their strong religious faith for guiding them through every phase of their lives.
The twins addressed their classmates — thanking them for all the memories made together over the last three years. “We’ve been so blessed to share some of the most exciting years of our lives with you guys. Every one of you possess so many talents and gifts. There’s a world out there that needs changing, and every one of us have a chance to contribute to that change. We’ve been given the guidance and tools to go out into the world and make a difference. Now its up to us.”
