Fun begins at county business
Looking for a little outdoor fun? A visit to Harry’s Motor Sports, 640 Main St. in Presque Isle, may be in order.
“We are your outdoor recreation specialists. We service and sell Honda ATVs, motorcycles and dirt bikes, Big Red side-by-sides, Honda power equipment like snow blowers, lawn mowers, generators, water pumps and weed whackers,” said John Alexander, co-owner of the business with his wife, Debbie Alexander.
For Kawasaki fans, Harry’s carries ATVs, side-by-sides and motorcycles.
“There’s also Arctic Cat ATVs, side-by-sides and snowmobiles,” he said. “Kubota tractors, mowers and all equipment used with tractors are also found at Harry’s.”
In business since 2003, Alexander has 30 years of retail experience in Presque Isle.
“The business has been here since the 1970s. I’ve owned it since 2003,” said Alexander. “For 30 years I’ve taken pride in going above and beyond to take care of customers. Repeat customers are my biggest asset.”
Alexander explained, telling the story of a snowmobile radar run at Portage Lake.
“We were inside Dean’s Motel one Saturday having supper when I overheard a conversation with a group of snowmobilers from Pennsylvania about their broken Arctic Cat muffler. I just happened to have the exact snowmobile outside in my trailer. I went out, took off the exhaust and put it on their sled so they could ride the next day. On Monday, those same people came to my dealership and bought two brand new sleds,” said Alexander.
The Kubota tractor franchise was recently added to Harry’s lineup of top-quality products.
“I stress to my eight employees to treat customers the way they’d want to be treated. Basically put themselves in the customer’s shoes and treat them accordingly,” said Alexander.
