Jerry’s strives to please
PRESQUE ISLE – From towing a vehicle to repairing a problem under the hood, Jerry’s Towing, Repair & Used Cars strives to please its customers.
Located at 78 Houlton Road in Presque Isle, the business is entering its 21st year.
“When I first started, it was just towing,” said owner Jerry Palmer. “Over the years it’s grown to include automotive repairs, auto body repairs, auto sales and motorcycle sales.
“They’re good, clean cars we acquire through dealer trade-ins or at auctions and we’ll take anything in on trade,” he said. “With new cars, you drive them off the lot and they’ve lost $5,000 value, so more people are buying used. It makes more sense, it’s convenient, and it saves money. Our cars are fully serviced and inspected before they are sold.”
Jerry’s is the only towing service in Presque Isle contracted with AAA and Allstate. They service other roadside assistance programs, as well, and of course they always accept cash and credit cards.
“We have two car carriers and one service truck,” said Palmer. “We’re here 24/7/365 to serve you as suddenly as possible.”
In addition, Jerry’s offers a complete, full service body shop, which offers restoration services, glass replacement, collision repair, and refinishing.
New to Jerry’s this year are Hyosung motorcycles.
“We sell used motorcycles, as well,” Palmer said.
Palmer said it’s important to provide the customer with the services they need and want.
“It’s like building a better mouse trap,” he said. “You give the customer the services they need and want with the respect they deserve. That’s a satisfied customer – that’s my customer.
“For example, when a customer’s had a fender bender or a breakdown and he/she calls us, we get there as suddenly and are as courteous as possible,” said Palmer. “That customer’s already having a bad day, so I do my best to calm them down and try to make their day a little nicer.
“With us, customer service is number one,” said Palmer, noting that the employees contribute to the success of the business. “And to all our customers, THANK YOU. My business is nothing without YOU.”
Jerry’s is open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. During the summer, the business is open as needed per customer requests during the evening. Call 764-4121 or 784-1881 or e-mail jerrystowing@ainop.com.
