Rapids vs. Galaxy
The Rapids’ Alex Ezzy put three balls into the back of the net last Wednesday in his team’s Caribou Recreation and Parks Department grade 3-4 Premier League matchup with the Galaxy. Benoit Lesvesque assisted Ezzy on one of the goals. Alexis Bruso and Owen McQuarrie displayed great skill equally well in both offensive and defensive roles. Their efforts were critical in turning the ball over and moving it up the field to fellow teammates.

Jessica Zbylut of the Caribou girls varsity soccer team makes a move on a Madawaska player during a run up the field in Thursday’s match played on the Owls’ home field. The Vikings took a 2-0 victory and are now 5-0-1 on the season.
The Galaxy played a tough game with Alex Bouchard scoring an unassisted goal in this contest. The Galaxy players played great against a tough Rapids’ offense. Jasmine Olsen, Oliver Fisher, Cullen Caverhill and Seth Roy sparked the defense.
Metrostars vs. Fire
In their second game of the season, the Metrostars showed tremendous improvement as a team since their opener. Parker Deprey got the scoring going with a goal off a nice assist from Willow Whitten. Deprey scored again unassisted in the first half. Hayden Hunter then broke through the Fire defense and fired a goal to the back of the net. Hunter then intercepted the kickoff and took the ball to the goal for his second goal of the game.
In the second half, Ghent Durepo had a nifty goal off another assist by Willow Whitten. Deprey added another tally late to close out the scoring.
Tiernan Barbosa played great in goal, stopping a penalty kick and controlling the area. Other top performers for the Metrostars included Sydney Thompson on the wing and Kerrigan Haney and Kim Susee on defense.
The Fire started out well, with Brennan Poitras scoring two goals in the game and hooking up with a Dagan Savage assist for one of them. Sebastian Marquis also scored a goal off a pass from Aaron Johnson. Jacob Soucy played great in goal.
Manchester United vs. Chelsea
This was a very well played World League (grades 5-6) game by both teams on offense and defense, but Chelsea’s aggressive offense of Ashley Matlock, Gabrielle Marquis, Austin Cheplic, Noah Frost, Connor “Coco” Plourde and Daniel Randolph kept the charge going all four periods. With two minutes of play in the fourth period, Matlock scored the big goal. Great goalie performances were turned in by Plourde, Cheplic and Randolph.
The Chelsea defense was outstanding all four periods and was led by Kara Madore, Matlock, Paige O’Bar, Marquis, Sierra Ouellette, Anya O’Mara, Randolph, Zach Whitten, Frost, Matt Nadeau and Cheplic.
Manchester United played a great defensive game holding off Matlock from scoring until just minutes before time ran out. Team United had great passing from Noah Heidorn and Rachel Soucy. Heather LaMothe, Erin Kashian and Bailey Griffeth really worked hard on defense.Dawson Hebert played outstanding in goal throughout the entire game.
Liverpool vs. Arsenal
The wet weather didn’t prevent a competitive match between Liverpool and Arsenal last Wednesday night. Liverpool saw excellent defense from sweeper Hope Shea and strong midfield performance from Jillian Jandreau, Meg Boone and Meagan Dube. Nic Sleeper scored twice for Liverpool.
In the first quarter, Arsenals’ Maddie Doucette and Josiah Krul each scored a goal with Trey Taylor playing great defense. In the second quarter, Arsenal relied on the strong defense by Kerrigan Manter, Kyra Thibeault, Doucette and Krul. Dylan Bonville had a shot on goal with Evan Desmond making a save in goal.
Later in the third quarter, Caleb Brown and Thibeault played well on defense with Taylor making several saves in goal. In the last quarter, Hunter Jackson and Krul each scored a goal with Bonville and Taylor adding some tough shots on goal. Kerrigan Manter played super in goal with a couple of saves to keep Liverpool out of the net.
