STOCKHOLM, Maine — American Legion Post 136 held its annual Children’s Christmas Party on Dec. 4. The Legion’s halls had been thoroughly decked for the event, complete with Christmas trees inside and out.
The event was open to all local children free of charge and hot dogs, chips, cookies and cocoa were served to the excited youths who were anxiously awaiting Santa Claus’ arrival. Just like last year, St. Nick arrived by dogsled (and one dog named Princess in an elf costume), courtesy of Heywood Kennel of Stockholm, and was greeted by many excited children who were happy to have their photo taken with.
Commander Rudy St. Peter and Auxiliary President Kathy Robinson were there to assist Santa as well as many volunteers who helped cook and distribute the gifts that each child received from Santa.
