    Gustin, Janice L., 63, February 16, 2011.  Arrangements by Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, Rockland.  Spring interment to be held in the Coughlin Memorial Cemetery, Rockland.
PT Janice Gustin    OWLS HEAD – Janice L. Gustin, 63, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Andersen Inn at Quarry Hill in Camden, after an extended illness.
    Born in Houlton, March 20, 1947, she was a daughter of William B. and Kathryn Gilland Anderson. Educated in Houlton schools, she was a 1965 graduate of Ricker Classical Institute and a 1969 graduate of Ricker College.
    After touring Europe with her close friend Patty Farmer Lord, for five years, Janice taught French at Georges Valley High School in Thomaston.
    On August 11, 1973, she married John J. Gustin in Houlton. A devoted wife and mother, she particularly enjoyed spending time at the family’s camp on East Grand Lake. She held a special love for her two Labrador’s, ‘Tugger’ and ‘Herschel’ and her toy poodle, ‘Louie’. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and was a longtime member of the Littleton Baptist Church.
    Other than her parents, Janice was pre-deceased by a brother, Joseph Anderson, in 1994. She is survived by her husband, John and son, Mark A. Gustin, both of Owls Head; a brother, B. Duane Anderson of Littleton; a sister, Nancy Putnam and her husband Phillip of Cary Plantation; four sisters-in-law, Ann Anderson of Houlton, Nellie Brackett and her husband, Gerald, of Rockland, Frances Volkir of La Vista, Nebraska, and Ann Gustin of Owl’s Head;  as well as several nieces and nephews.
    Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, where a service will follow at 2 p.m. The Reverend Steven Straubel, pastor of Littleton Baptist Church, will officiate. Spring interment will be in Coughlin Memorial Cemetery, Rankin Street, Rockland.
