Caribou native MARKO, the Master Magician and Hypnotist (Mark Gagnon) will present two shows on Saturday, April 30, at the Caribou Performing Arts Center. All  proceeds from the two shows will benefit the Aroostook Teen Leadership Camp program, a leadership development and drug prevention program.

MARKO’s shows are designed for fun and Gagnon believes the participants in his shows are the stars and he makes them shine. No one is ever embarrassed or compromised.

MARKO became interested in magic at the early age of 6 and by the age of 9 he began performing for family and friends. He performed magic throughout his high school and college years. It was during his college career that he began studying hypnosis. One of the highlights of MARKO’s career has been the opportunity to study with world-renowned hypnotist, Ormand McGill.

The April 30 shows will begin at 6 and 9 p.m. Each show begins with a 45-minute magic segment followed by a 15-minute intermission, concluding with a 60-minute segment of hypnosis. The early show is family-oriented while the later show targets an older audience.

Tickets for each show are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Tickets are available at York’s Book Store in Houlton; Goin’ Postal in Presque Isle; Food Trend, Caribou; Parent’s Country Store, Caswell; Ezzy’s Music Store, Van Buren and at Bob’s Neighborhood Store in Madawaska.

Tickets may also be available at the door unless a specific show has been sold out.

The Aroostook Teen Leadership Camp is made possible through Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. For more information contact Jack Foster, program coordinator at 498-6431.
