A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday, May 20, at Catholic Charities’ new store located on Davis Street in Presque Isle. Proceeds from the sale of donated items benefit various food pantries serving over two dozens communities in Aroostook County and helping hundreds of county residents put food on their tables as they struggle to make ends meet during these tough economic times. Pictured from left are: Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce member Billie Brodsky; Nola Farley, PIACC past president; Jeanna Gardiner, store manager; Jim McKenney, PIACC member; Dixie Shaw, program director, Catholic Charities Home Supplies and Food Bank; and PIACC members Bonnie Pack and Kim Smith. This makes the second thrift store for Catholic Charities, with the original site located in Caribou.
