McGill’s Community Band has enjoyed a summer of great music and great audiences. If you haven’t been able to attend this summer, you have one more opportunity. The final concert of the season will be Thursday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m. in Monument Park.
“There will be a celebration with wonderful music and homemade goodies for the band and the audience as a way of saying “thank you” to everyone for a great season,” said band member Michael Clark. “If it should look like rain, the concert and reception will be held at Houlton High School auditorium. So, come enjoy a summer evening and be entertained by McGill’s Band. Hope to see you all there.”

FS-guest conductor-dcx-pt-33GUEST CONDUCTOR — McGill’s Community Band has had a couple of “guest” conductors this summer. One evening Ryan McGillicuddy, son of the band’s founder, David McGillicuddy, helped his daughter, Eliza, do the directing. On another evening, Lauren Mania, niece of Houlton Junior High Band director Kevin Mania, went solo doing a great job of leading.
