“Dedicated members are the lifeblood of any organization,” stated David Spooner, Master of Caribou Masonic Lodge 170, “and it was a privilege to recognize four members for their years of service during a meeting earlier this month.”

During a recent meeting of the Caribou Masonic Lodge 170 several members were recognized for their 25, 50 and 55 years of service to the organization. Peter Doebener II received his 25-year pin from his father Peter Doebener during the ceremony. Lodge member Oscar Erickson was recognized for his 55 years of membership with a Service Star, which is awarded by the Lodge every five years after 50 years of service.
Also honored for their 50 years of service to the Lodge were Dale Dee, previous Caribou Lodge Master; and Gary Richards. Both Dee and Richards were unable to be in attendance at the September meeting and will be presented with their Fifty-year Veterans Medal on a future date.
According to Spooner, one of the highlights of the recent meeting came when Peter Doebener, a Past Master of the Caribou Masonic Lodge 170, was asked to present his son Peter Doebener II with this 25-year-pin.
“It is so nice to recognize members for their years of service, especially when one reaches the milestone of 50 and 55 years,” said Spooner, “however it was truly special to have a father be able to recognize his son in such a way.”
“Members who dedicate themselves for such a long time to an organization should be an inspiration to us all,” added Spooner, “because life gets busy for everyone and these individuals have given of their time for decades and that is something which we need to celebrate.”
