PRESQUE ISLE — The Crow’s Nest will be the site of the Harvest Ball, the first time the fundraiser — benefiting “Harvest Magazine” — will be held in Aroostook County.

“For the first time, the Harvest Ball fundraiser will be held in Aroostook. The fifth annual Harvest Ball, which benefits the award-winning ‘Harvest Magazine,’ is taking place on Saturday, Oct. 15, at The Crow’s Nest Event Center in Presque Isle, beginning at 6 p.m.,” said Sue Bernard, communication director, Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.

“Harvest Magazine,” which is distributed free of charge to 40,000 households, is a unique publication that promotes charities and offers inspirational stories and photos collected from throughout Maine.

“In these times of uncertainty and cynicism, ‘Harvest Magazine’ stands alone in its message of hope, devotion and encouragement,” said Bernard.

According to Bernard, the ball will feature a gourmet dinner, a live and silent auction and dancing to the music of the Jump City Jazz Band, known for their mix of pop, jazz and swing.

“The auction will include various items including a weekend get-away, a hand-crafted mantle clock, gift certificates from area businesses, jewelry and much more,” said Bernard.

Bishop Richard Malone will host the event and warmly welcomes people of all faiths. Reservations are required. The social begins at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m. For more information, call 773-6471.
