Paul Pierce of Mars Hill has been chosen as the overall winner of the Aroostook County Tourism summer photo contest for his shot of a moose cow and calf.
Other category winners include Tracey Ackerson of Woodland, for the scenic views category; Johnnie Cancelarich of Presque Isle, for outdoor recreation; Fred Grant of Houlton, for cities and towns; and Lori Prosser of Houlton, for festivals and events. All winning entries are available to view on the website at www.visitaroostook.com and the Aroostook Tourism Facebook page.
The fall photo contest began Sept. 26 and will end Nov.30. The contest’s five categories include Aroostook County scenic views, wildlife, outdoor recreation, festivals and events and cities and towns. The photos must represent Aroostook in the fall.

Winning photos will be displayed on the ACT website and Facebook page and may be used for marketing projects if permitted. Both amateur and professional photographers are welcome to participate. Photos may be submitted as prints or in digital format; see contest rules for details. There will be one overall winner with additional winners in each category.
The prize for the fall contest is an Aroostook County gift basket with a variety of products that are made in Aroostook. The total value of the prize is $150. No purchase is necessary to enter or win but participants must be 18 years or older.
All photos must be submitted with an entry form and copyright release form if you would like your photo to be used by ACT for marketing purposes. If the photo shows a person’s face, a model release form must be filled out.
