Easton 4-H Club collecting your old shoes

EASTON NEWS

by Debbie Smith

The Easton Trotters 4-H Club is collecting shoes as part of a country-wide 4-H project. There is a collection box at the Easton Odd Fellows’ Hall in the entry, as well as at the Mars Hill Town Office. These shoes will be collected on Sunday, June 10, by the Aroostook County 4-H Club officers and sent to the organization www.donateyourshoes.org. These will be distributed around the globe.

Keep saving Box Tops

As the year winds down, please remember to keep collecting your Box Tops for Education. Next year the school will be continuing the Box Tops for Education program, so keep clipping.

Sympathy

Our sympathy goes out to the family of Erma Thompson. Erma will be missed as she touched a lot of lives. She taught at Easton for many years.

Alumni supper

The Easton alumni will be hosting their Alumni Banquet to honor the Class of 2012 on Thursday, June 7, at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served in the Easton Elementary School cafeteria and all alumni are being asked to bring a salad or dessert and $5 for dues. The classes of 1962 and 1987 will also be recognized. This year’s newsletter can be found online at www.eastonschools.org.
