FORT FAIRFIELD — The second annual Maine Basketball Hall of Fame Golf Scramble will take place Friday, Aug. 3 at Aroostook Valley Country Club.
The four-person Oldsmobile scramble has an 11 a.m. shotgun start. Registration runs from 10-10:45 a.m. The field is limited to the first 40 paid teams. Entry fee is $50 per person and includes a steak or chicken barbecue.
More than $4,000 in prizes will be awarded to the top two gross teams and the top eight net teams. In addition, golfers will have a chance to win two hole-in-one prizes: a 2012 Ford Focus, supplied by Griffeth Ford-Lincoln-Honda of Caribou and Presque Isle, and $10,000 cash.
Closest to pin and longest drive competitions will also be held. An auction will also take place as part of the event.
Proceeds from the tourney go to the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame, which will be located in a wing of the new Bangor Auditorium which is now under construction.
