Cumberland, MD – Francis Patrick “Gus” Lynch, 76, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born June 7, 1936, in LaVale, MD, Mr. Lynch was the son of the late Michael Patrick Lynch and Mildred Virginia (Lee) Lynch. He was also preceded in death by a sister: Donna “Skeeter” Jean Lynch, May 30, 2012; a great grandchild; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Gus was a retired United States Air Force Veteran with 20 years of service. He also was a retired Security Guard at Sacred Heart Hospital with 24 years of service and worked for several years at Napa Auto Parts.
Gus is survived by his wife of 45 years: Blenda (Michaud) Lynch; his stepson: Ward L. Phillips and wife, Maxine, Chambers-burg, PA: his aunt: Vernetta Parker, Cumberland, MD; as well as three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A committal service was conducted at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap on Friday, August 17, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. with Father Steve Fernandes, O.F.M. Cap., officiating.
Military honors were accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
