HOULTON, Maine — The ballot has been set for candidates seeking seats on the Houlton town council and SAD 29 school board. The Houlton Pioneer Times will be doing candidate profiles on these individuals in an upcoming issue.
Five candidates are seeking two open seats on the Houlton town council for three-year terms. They are incumbent Michael Jenkins, Daniel Peabody, Phil Bernaiche, Carl Lord Jr. and Philip Cloney.
Three candidates are seeking three open seats on the SAD 29 school board. The candidates are Lori Holmes, Bruce Clark and Tammy Goetsch. All three are currently serving on the board.
In addition, two candidates are seeking two seats as director for the Houlton Water Company. They are Gary Hagan and Stephen Nelson. One individual, Dale Flewelling, is running for a one-year term on the town’s Board of Budget Review committee. Four candidates are seeking three open seats for three-year terms on the Board of Budget Review. Those candidates are Anthony Delucca, Lord Jr., Dorothy Donahue and Bernaiche. Also, one candidate, Iva Sussman, is running for the Cary Library board of trustees.
