Houlton Star Bright Children’s Theatre to present ‘An Allagash Haunting’ as a radio show

In 2011 the Houlton Star Bright Children’s Theatre collaborated with local author Tim Caverly to produced a stage play based on his book “An Allagash Haunting: The Story of Emile Camille,” which was performed in Houlton and Millinocket.
This year, just in time for Halloween, the Children’s Theatre has collaborated with local radio station WHOU FM 100.1 to produce a radio play based on the book.
“An Allagash Haunting: The Story of Emile Camille” is set in the Allagash region of northern Maine, and tells the story of 10 year old Olivia who, while on a canoe trip in the Allagash waterway with her parents on a stormy night, meets with a ghostly visitor near an abandoned lumbermen’s boarding house. The book is the second in a series of children’s books by Tim Caverly that are set in the Allagash wilderness region.
The radio show was produced by WHOU FM 100.1 and stars Children’s Theatre alumni Rothery Sullivan as “Olivia”, John Thatcher as Olivia’s brother “Timmy” and Brian McMann as “Emile Camille” along with Children’s Theatre board members Mary Miler as the narrator and Susan McMann and Frank Sullivan as Olivia and Timmy’s parents. The radio play will also feature original music composed for the play by Children’s Theatre president Barbara Hogan, who also wrote the script based on Mr. Caverly’s book.
“An Allagash Haunting: The Story of Emile Camille” promises great Halloween entertainment for the entire family.
There will be three broadcasts of the radio play “An Allagash Haunting: The Story of Emile Camille as follows: Saturday, Oct. 27, at 6 p.m.; Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
