HOULTON — A prayer service for Saint Kateri Tekakwitha will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Houlton at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Tekakwitha was among seven saints recently canonized by Pope Benedict XVI. She is the first American Indian to be canonized.
Following the prayer service, a potluck supper and social gathering will be held at the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians gymnasium on the Foxcroft Road.
