LIMESTONE — With garland, glitz and good tidings, Limestone welcomed in the holiday season with their annual Light Parade.
Greater Limestone Chamber of Commerce President Michelle Albert said that she was very impressed with this year’s turnout and very thankful that so many chose to kick off the holiday celebration with the town.
“One person doesn’t put this all together; it takes multiple people to do this and I’m thankful they all came together to do this for the children and the community,” she said.
With a good turnout and great weather, adults waved and children cheered as Santa Claus made his way down Main Street with a very festive entourage that embodied this year’s parade theme, “Santa’s Workshop.”
Award-winning floats this year were:
• Best Theme: County Patriot Young Marines/Toys for Tots;
• Best Lights: the Maine Military Authority;
• Most Musical: “Santa’s Elves (the Edgecomb Family);
• Most Creative: Thibodeau Trucking/Al-Bears; and
• Best Business entry: Grammie’s Treasures.
