Pelkey, Carl L., 70, of Limestone, on December 6, 2012. A graveside service will be conducted in the spring at Advent Cemetery, Limestone. Arrangements are in the care of the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.


LIMESTONE – Carl L. Pelkey, 70, husband of the late Margaret A. Pelkey, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, December 6, 2012, at his Limestone residence. He was born May 5, 1942, in California Settlement, New Brunswick, the son of Joseph E. and Celia E.(Smith) Pelkey.

Carl was educated in California Settlement, N.B., and was married to Margaret A. Nason on October 7, 1961. Carl had been employed by Albert Farms Trucking of Madawaska for several years and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a man of few words and always had a grin.

In addition to his parents, Carl was predeceased by his wife, Margaret on March 26, 2010; one brother, Arnold E. Pelkey; one sister, Norma Taylor.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Kelly Pelkey of Berwick, ME, Walter and Holly Pelkey of Portland; one daughter and son-in-law, Terri and David Louk of Gautier, MS; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita Pelkey of Perth, NB, Avis and Newman DeMerchant of Aroostook, NB, Phyllis and Wayne Janosik of Fate, TX, Lois and Eugene Morrow of Fort Fairfield, Marlene Tompkins and Patricia Watson, both of Perth, NB; two granddaughters, Samantha Pelkey of Waterville and Megan Pelkey of Berwick, ME; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted in the spring at Advent Cemetery, Limestone. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Pelkey to the Central Aroostook Humane Society, 26 Cross St., Presque Isle, 04769. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
