Albert, Michael J., 44, of Oakland, Mich. and Stockholm, on December 4, 2012. Arrangements are in the care of the Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, Caribou.


AR Michael Albert OBOAKLAND, MI and STOCKHOLM – Michael J. Albert, 44, passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2012, in Pontiac, Michigan. He was born on September 8, 1968, in Fort Kent, the son of Doris (Dufour) Albert and the late Joseph R. Albert. Michael was a gift to his family and friends since the day he was born, and God blessed us with these years with him.

Following graduation from Caribou High School, Michael spent many years working in customer service for hotels, until his health did not allow him to continue working. Throughout his life, Michael endured much pain and suffering with his medical condition, undergoing two open-heart surgeries and many various other medical procedures. He did not give up nor did he complain but took each day in stride.

He is survived by his children whom he adored and lived for, Joshua Kinter and Ashley Albert; his loving mother, Doris; siblings, Kenneth & Earlene (Doucette) Albert of Etna, ME, Patricia (Albert) & Gary Canning of Sunapee, NH, Roland P. Albert of Presque Isle, Carol (Albert) & Paul Lamson of Gouverner, NY, Jeanine (Albert) & Gil Morneault of Caribou, and Alan & Amy (Roman) Albert of Walpole, MA; his many nieces and nephews, Roiya (Albert) Doyle & husband, Sean, Renee (Canning) Kelly and husband, Jake, their two children, Evan & June, Amanda Canning, Brian Canning, Mark & Hannah (Lockwood) Lamson, Kim Lamson, Daniel Morneault and Katherine Morneault. He also leaves behind his loving godparents, Frank & Joyce (Dufour) Martin of Frenchville.

He was predeceased by his loving father, Joseph in 2004; his grandparents, Paul & Emelda (St. Amant) Dufour and Patrick & Leona (Lagasse) Albert; and several aunts and uncles.

Family and friends called Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home in Caribou from 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Dec. 10, at 11 a.m., at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood with Rev. John Paul Labrie officiating. A reception followed the service at the Parish Center. Interment will be at a later date at the New Holy Rosary Cemetery.
