Duncan and her husband, Rick Duncan, were at Chandler Farms on the State Road Dec. 5 to pick up their prize.

“I bought my ticket at Graves but never thought I’d win,” said Nancy Duncan. “Our grandchildren live a mile away. We’ll go back and forth between the homes.”

Duncan said the family has had sleds in the past and is looking forward to enjoying their new one.

Rudy St. Peter joined Alice Chandler in presenting the Duncans with their new snowmobile.

“My wife, Leoria St. Peter, and I sold tickets at Graves in Presque Isle. Nancy may have purchased her winning ticket from us,” said Rudy St. Peter, local Toys for Tots representative.

St. Peter said he was pleased to be able to work with Alice and Don Chandler, of Chandler Farms, in acquiring the snowmobile for the Toys for Tots raffle, with proceeds going to purchase toys for area children in need this Christmas.

“We were able to raise $2,000, over the cost of the snowmobile, to benefit Toys for Tots. It was a very successful campaign. The campaign started in September and concluded in early December,” said St. Peter.

In recognition of their participation in the fund-raising effort, St. Peter presented the Chandlers with a certification of appreciation.

Toys for Tots will distribute gifts to children throughout northern Aroostook County, including the communities of Caribou and Presque Isle.
