Guerrette earns financial planning’s highest standard

    State Farm Agent Doug Guerrette has earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) professional designation from The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pa.

    Candidates for the ChFC designation must complete a minimum of nine courses and 18 hours of supervised examinations. They must also fulfill stringent experience and ethics requirements. Over 49,000 individuals have been awarded the ChFC designation since its inception in 1982 and the credential is widely regarded as the highest standard of knowledge and trust for financial planning professionals.
    The ChFC program prepares professionals to meet the advanced financial needs of individuals, families and small-business owners. ChFCs can identify and establish specific goals and then formulate, implement and monitor a comprehensive plan to achieve those goals. Individuals who earn a ChFC can provide expert advice on a broad range of financial topics including financial planning, wealth accumulation and estate planning, income taxation, life and health insurance, business taxation and planning, investments and retirement planning.
    Guerrette was born and raised in St. Agatha and currently resides in Mapleton, with his wife Louise and his three children Brad, Taylor and Allison. His State Farm agency is located at 29 Military Street in Houlton. He has been with State Farm Insurance for nine years in various roles.
    Prior to joining State Farm Insurance, Guerrette worked in the accounting and finance field for nine years. He holds a CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation from the American College, a MBA with a concentration in information technology from Southern New Hampshire University, a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Bryant College, and an associate’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine at Fort Kent. He also has a CPA certificate, and is a four-year veteran of the United States Marines.
