AMATO’S FUNDRAISER

  The Future Business Leaders of America held a fundraiser at Amato’s earlier in the school year. Amato’s graciously donated 10 percent of the sales from that day to the club. From left are Tammy Long, manager; Grayden Hemphill, FBLA treasurer; and Jessica Desmond, owner.

    There were 31 local FBLA students who participated in individual and group competitions. The Presque Isle FBLA received third place out of 10 schools competing.
    There were 10 first-place trophies awarded to local students and the winners were as follows: Amanda Bennett for Business Financial Plan, Bridgette Carrier for Computer Applications, Chris Carroll for Business Financial Plan, Lauren Schiff for Business Financial Plan, Liza Buck for FBLA Promotion Award and Client Service, Rachel Maxwell for Database Design and Application, FBLA Principles and Procedures; Shannon Sweeney for Accounting I and Hannah Guerrette for Chapter Display.
    Nine second-place trophies were awarded as follows: Abbie Carrier for Accounting II, Bennett  for Help Desk,  Brady Sullivan for Business Plan, Carroll for Business Plan, Grayden Hemphill for Business Plan, Emily Transue for Database Design and Application, Haley Bouchard for Hospitality Management, Maxwell for Spreadsheet Applications and Sweeney for E-Business.
    Twenty third-place trophies were awarded as follows: Blair Bailey for Desktop Publishing and Digital Design Promotion, Bennett for Public Speaking II, Bridgette Carrier for Spreadsheet Applications, Clarissa Buck for Accounting I and Website Design, Drew Barrett for Sports Management, Transue for Desktop Publishing, Guerrette for Digital Design Promotion, Karson Wilcox for Marketing, Kyle MacCallum for Marketing and Word Processing I, Schiff for Digital Design Promotion, Buck for Future Business Leader Marketing, Sweeney for Scrapbook Award of Merit, Shaye McHatten for Computer Applications, Introduction to Business Communication and Public Speaking I; and Shea Brown for Web Site Design.
    Two state awards were handed out, with Maxwell receiving Outstanding Freshmen of the Year  Award and Katelyn McPherson the New Member of the Year Award.
