CARIBOU — Spud Speedway held events Aug. 17 and 18. Winners in the full card of racing were as follows:
Outlaw sportsman: first, Glenn Rasmussen, New Denmark, New Brunswick; second, Connor Thibeau, Fort Fairfield; and third, Robert Tomlinson, Arthurette, New Brunswick.
Fast Fours: first, Keith Thibeau, Jr., Fort Fairfield; second, Matt Lloyd, New Denmark, New Brunswick; and third, Nate Haney, Limestone.
Street stocks: first, JR Howlett, Mapleton; and second, Jon Dixon, Presque Isle.
Northern Lights: first, Shawn Dewley, Presque Isle; second, Wayne Fox, Sr., Caribou; and third, Del Brissette, Caribou.
Senior champ karts: first, Jason Theriault, Caribou.
Junior champ karts: first, Damian Theriault, Caribou.
Kids karts: first, Gage Theriault, Limestone.
For the Day of Destruction, winners were: tough truck: Bobby Anderson; race your neighbor: Connor Thibeau; bag race: Scott Fisher and Willie Rossignol; bomber race: Anderson; demolition derby: Steven Holmes.
American Red Cross Night is set for Saturday, Aug. 24 beginning at 6 p.m. and features fan appreciation day, where fans can enter at 5 p.m. and go out on the track and meet the racers and see their cars up close. Kids will be able to go for rides. Youth between the ages of 4-12 can bring their pedal bike for races on the new kart track. There will be a full card of racing, including the first-ever kids candy scramble for those 12 and under.
