Ricker Rumblings

Good morning or good afternoon, whatever the time you are reading this! Beautiful day again in Aroostook County. To quote one lady: “The foliage is as beautiful as any other place.’’ Had a conversation with Mr. Anthony about Newfoundland where my first cousins live. Herring chokers and other similar words was the topic.

Our friend Robin Chambers continues to surprise us with hot or cold dishes, whatever the case may be. It’s sure nice to open your door in the morning and find freshly baked muffins. Thanks, Robin. It was so nice to meet Margaret Drew the other day. Margaret lived in Bridgewater at one time. She is so pretty and one of our ‘’new’’ tenants.
So nice to hear Gerry Dunn is going to ‘’one of us.’’ Gerry is moving into Ricker Plaza. Now Gerry and her sister Lavina Byron will be so close. Welcome aboard, Gerry.
A few weeks ago, the ‘’old crew’’ at the Houlton Pioneer Times had a reunion. It was a year or more since the last one. Attending were Carol Hand, Margaret Campbell, Kaye Trickey, Sheila McKay, Gloria Austin and myself. A few more were invited but could not come. Girls, if you read this, keep us in mind for the next reunion.
Shirley and her hubby (the Anthonys) had a ride to Presque Isle on Thursday. They went the ‘’old way’’ and said the foliage is beautiful.
Here’s a few tips on eating fruits and vegetables every day: help prevent or delay the effects of chronic disease such as obesity hypertention and heart disease; maintain strong bones; get some of the vitamins, minerals and fiber needed to maintain good health; maintain regularity; add color, taste and variety to your diet.
Joe Garnett, son of Doris Hogan informed me his mother, at Madigan, is doing better. Gary Keyes, one of our tenants, had a quick trip to the Emergency Room at Houlton Regional Hospital recently, a possible heart attack victim. Gary was only there a short time.
Here’s my angel quote: God made angels so that humans would have someone to lean on when He was busy tending universes. See you next week, God willing.
