SUTHERLAND, Arthur C., 84, ASHLAND, Oct. 5, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m., on Fri., Oct. 11, at St. Marks Catholic Church, Ashland.  Arrangements in care of Lajoie Funeral Home, Ashland.

 ASHLAND – Arthur C. Sutherland, 84, died October 5, 2013, at a Presque Isle health care facility. He was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Ashland, a son of the late Harold and Cassie (Bragdon) Sutherland.
    He served with the Air Force during the Korean War and was a life member of LeBlanc-Junkins VFW Post #9699. He worked with the Town of Ashland for over 20 years.
    Arthur is survived by his wife of 50 years, Irene (LaRochelle) Sutherland of Ashland; four sons, Harold Sutherland and his wife, Holly of Penacook, NH, John Sutherland and his fiancé, Tammie Lee Profit of Lubec, Arthur Sutherland and his wife, Heather of Ashland, and Earl Sutherland of Thomaston; one sister, Maurine Michaud and her husband, Lawrence of Bangor; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
    Besides his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his brother, Curtis Sutherland.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at St. Marks Catholic Church, Ashland. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 6 – 8 p.m., and Friday 11:30 – 12:30 p.m., at St. Marks Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will be in Ashland Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home (formerly Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home), 114 Exchange St., Ashland.
