Peanut, a large, orange Maine Coon mix, is hoping to settle into his new home this weekend. Peanut is a very big, mellow, clean, loving and playful nine-month old orange male kitty, who’s also fixed. “He gets along well with other animals and dearly loves to play,” said President of the Halfway Home Pet Rescue Norma Milton. All medical procedures, including his neutering, have been completed and Peanut is free for adoption this Saturday to a good home. Adoption hours are from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Milton says that HHPR has so many cats that they have no choice but to offer financial deals that will delight pocketbooks. In addition to having all adult cats (and their completed medical treatments) available for free this weekend, each cat goes home with a “new baby” kit that includes a litter box, scoop, food, litter, toy and the cat’s personal blanket. An adoption application is required and can be completed in advance online at www.halfwayhomepetrescue.org. FMI: call Mary Rowe at 999-1075.
