Postseason approaching

Postseason is nearing and teams are still looking for better position in the Heal Point Standings.
The Class D boys regional preliminaries is Friday, Oct. 25, with Class C playoff games beginning Saturday, Oct. 26 The quarterfinals will be Wednesday, Oct. 30, with the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 1 and all regional finals on Wednesday, Saturday, Nov. 6. State games are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9.    East Grand 3, Limestone/MSSM 5 — On Monday in Limestone, the Eagles’ Zeb Keith-Hardy led his team to the win by scoring three goals, one in the first half and two in the second. Tristan Kirk added two goals and Keith-Hardy added an assist.
Limestone/MSSM goalie Sam Kupiec had four saves on six shots.
For East Grand, Kyle Gilman delivered two goals and assist, while Phil Farley added a tally. Farley (four saves on six shots) and Thomas Gilman (eight saves on 11 shots) combined in the goal.
Katahdin 0, Bangor Christian 8 — The Bangor Christian Patriots remained undefeated after visiting Stacyville last Saturday. The Patriots are 10-0.
Tucker Rice scored three times, while teammate Cody Collins racked up three assists to lead their team.
T.J. Young blocked 14 of 32 shots faced for Katahdin.
Hodgdon 4, Limestone/MSSM 5 — Last Thursday game in Limestone went into overtime before a victor was declared. Limestone’s Chris Bernier scored at the 2:40 mark of the overtime to boost the Eagles.
Tristan Kirk had three goals for the Eagles, two coming in the opening half.
At halftime, the Eagles led 3-2, as Chris Hudson led the way with two first-half goals. Devin Quint  knotted the game at 4-all at 5:02 on his second goal of the second half. Isaiah Dupuis added an assist in the game, while goalie Jimmy Buzzell set back 11 of 16 shots faced.
Limetone’s Sam Kupiec had eight saves on 12 shots.
Southern Aroostook 2, CAHS 0 — The Warriors scored early and late in the first half to take the win over Central Aroostook last Thursday in Mars Hill.
Jackson Mathers hit for the first goal at the 30:20 mark, while Cody Lassonde finished the scoring with  8:17 left in the first half. Goalie Austin White preserved the shutout with three saves on eight shots.
For the Panthers, Spencer Garrison and Dane Kingsbury combined for eight saves on 14 shots faced.
Ashland 4, Katahdin 0 — Cody Blair scored in each half of the game to drive his team to a win over visiting Katahdin last Thursday.
Young combined with Alexander Lane for 26 saves, while Tim Tarr had four saves for Ashland.
Houlton 1, Mattanawcook Academy 0 — Houlton goalie Kole Buzzeo came up with the shutout by stopping one shot on one attempt last Wednesday at home.
Gage Hunt scored the game-winner, assisted by Isaac Cone, at the 14:14 mark of the second half. The Shiretowners had the advantage on the Lynx, as Austin Smith had 11 stops on 18 shots faced.
SACS 9, East Grand 1 — The Warriors overpowered the Vikings last Wednesday in Dyer Brook, as Lassonde and Trent Cullinan led the way with two goals apiece. Mathers, Cameron Landry, Parker Walker, Matt Furrow and Nolan Altvater each had single tallies.
Kyle Gilman scored East Grand’s lone goal.
SACS’ goalie, White combined with Altvater for four saves, while Gilman and Wyatt Oliver combined for 11 saves for East Grand.
Katahdin 8, Hodgdon 0 — Katahdin overtook Hodgdon earlier in the week behind three goals and assist from Nick Lane. Tyson Porter and Riley Somers added one goal and one assist apiece. Shey Lane, Joel Birmingham and Young each added single tallies.
Young made 12 saves in goal and Forrest Heath added three assists in the game.
Hodgdon keeper Buzzell had 17 saves on 24 shots faced.
