Reading program

Maine Agri-Women Pam Townsend and Bobbi McCrum recently read books provided by Ag in the Classroom to the students at Fort Street School in Mars Hill. Partial funding is provided by the Maine Potato Board. The book this year was about Maine blueberries. Children were pleased to learn that Maine is the number one producer of wild blueberries in the world. The books were shared with the students and gifted to the classroom libraries.
March was Agriculture Month and the Maine Agri-Women read books about Maine agriculture to area schools. Towns represented were: Houlton, Littleton, St. Agatha, Madawaska, New Sweden, Fort Fairfield, Mars Hill, Woodland, Mapleton and Belfast.
