ISLAND FALLS, Maine — The County Walk Toward A Cure run-walk will be held Saturday, May 24, at the Island Falls Municipal Building.
Registration for the 5-kilometer road race/walk begins at 9 a.m. The run begins at 10 a.m., with walkers following shortly thereafter. There is no cost to participate, but donations are accepted and sponsor sheets may also be obtained. T-shirts will be available for purchase. Colored cancer ribbons will also be available, with cards to personalize a message.
A tag sale will be held in the gymnasium, sponsored by Island Falls United Baptist Church. Children’s games will also be available on the ball field, sponsored by the Oakfield Pentecostal Church.
A barbecue lunch begins at 10:30 a.m. and public speaking/sharing of personal experiences follows at 11 a.m.
