On Saturday, July 26, the Island Falls Lakes Association is hosting its 11th Annual Around-the-Pond Canoe/Kayak Race at Birch Point Lodge and Campgrounds on Pleasant Lake. Registration will take place at Birch Point from 9 to 9:45 a.m. that morning at $10 per person. The race starts at 10 a.m.
All proceeds from this race go to the Southern Aroostook Community High School “Dollars for Scholars” program. A hot dog roast will be provided for all racers, along with a free T-shirt to all registered paddlers.
