Successful 55th reunion held for Class of 1959

    CARIBOU — The festive activities of the 55th Reunion for the Caribou High School Class of 1959 began with a “Meet and Greet” at the home of Dave and Marcia DeMerchant on Aug. 14 with over 40 people attending.

    Light hors d’oeuvres and punch were served, and Gary Monteith made ice cream floats for all.
    A large group of classmates met at Reno’s Restaurant for breakfast on Friday morning. Following breakfast, the group decorated the conference room at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center with a “Rock n’ Roll” theme for the reunion.

    The Caribou Inn and Convention Center staff served the reunion dinner and all enjoyed the meal. Gary Monteith was master of ceremonies and Kathy Babin Michaud was mistress of ceremonies for the evening program.
    Thirty-three classmates attended the event along with their spouse, significant other or guest.
    Linda Gunnerson Callison made a Memorial Table with pictures of deceased classmates. The 38 names of deceased class members were read by Shirley Nedeau Shorey while Linda Gunnerson Callison lit candles in memory.
    A moment of silence was held for the following deceased classmates: Carline Anderson, Judith Anderson Rideout, Paridon Anderson, Almond Babin, Raymond Barnes Jr., Jean Blackstone Nelson, Glen Bragdon, Daniel Brewer, William Cameron, Jean Caveney Scholl, Galen Chapman, Garnet Chapman, Gilbert Conroy, Athalie Cyr Williams, Harvey “Murchie” Cyr, Carolyn Duncan Ferris, Joan Fogg Endicott, Edna Gagnon Watson, Wesley Gardner, Brendon Jalbert, Alaine Johnson Bernier, Gloria Johnson Ringdahl, Colleen Kelley Nichols, Frances Kidney Duran, Rita Lausier Chetelat, H. Gayle Lennon Paul, Harlan “Bud” Lombard, Joseph R.C. “Jack” Long, Joseph “Clem” McBreairty, Carlene Miller Cronquist, Robert Miller, Ernest Nadeau, Robert Page, Brian Rogers, Ronald C.     Tickets were drawn and door prizes were awarded to the lucky ticket holders.
    Music of the 1950s and ‘60s for listening and dancing was furnished by Alan Hewitt.
    With deep appreciation for a job well done, classmates sincerely thank all on the Reunion Committee: Toni, Dave, Liz, Petie, Diane, Linda, Gary, Bob, Nate, Hubert, Cecile, Galen, Bill and Reggie for all their hard work that made the 55th class reunion a success.
