Courtyard Café wants to be your dining destination in Houlton

The Courtyard Café was born in May of 1998. Joyce Transue had moved to Houlton when she met and married her husband Henry. She realized how much she missed the restaurant business in Boston. With the encouragement of dear friend Bob Blanchette, Joyce began a gourmet catering service from her home.

From there, she developed a following in the community and opened the Courtyard Café in the Fishman Mall on Main Street. Sixteen years later, she is still hard at work six days a week, preparing soups, salad dressings, bread, pizza dough and desserts, as well as creating endless new ways to showcase her culinary prowess.
The Garden Bar has received rave reviews since its renovation in the fall of 2012. The CYC added 16 bar stools to accompany a new handcrafted 24-foot bar. They feature Twenty 2 Vodka infusions, two beers weekly on tap, and they always have featured drink specials. They offer Open Mic Night the third Thursday of every month, and once every six to eight weeks, Paul LaPointe plays oldies.
Recently the Courtyard Café’s Garden Bar was voted “Best Bar in Northern Maine,” as well as the “Best Cocktails in Northern Maine,” by readers of Bangor Metro Magazine.
The Courtyard Café staff encourages you to come join them for drinks or dinner!
