KVHC donates 100 Christmas gifts to local children

Katahdin Valley Health Center hosted its first annual “Giving Tree” event to provide Christmas gifts to local families.

KVHC employees wanted to make a difference in their communities this Holiday Season.  A Christmas tree was put up at each clinic and decorated with cards listing each child’s Christmas wish.  The employees came together and through generous donations and internal fundraising activities raised enough money to provide over 100 gifts to children in the surrounding communities.
This initiative was directed by KVHC’s Eligibility Staff, Megan Day, Tina McNinch, and Mary Michaud. Megan says of the Giving Tree, “Working on KVHC’s Giving Tree has been a very rewarding experience for all of us. The meaning of Christmas for us is giving to others, and when you are helping children there is nothing more rewarding.”
Katahdin Valley Health Center is a federally qualified health center dedicated to providing quality, low cost healthcare to the Katahdin region. KVHC has clinics located in Patten, Houlton, Island Falls, Ashland and Millinocket.
