Voters in many communities will be asked Tuesday, June 9 to approve school budgets for the 2015-16 school year. The following is a listing of known polling times for communities in the Houlton Pioneer Times’ coverage area.
RSU 29 — The budget for 2015-16 is $12,874,619, which is an increase of $123,223 (almost 1 percent) over last year’s spending plan. How the budget impacts the individual communities is as follows: Hammond, $68,649,which is an increase of $7,295 (11.89 percent); Houlton, $2,622,299, an increase of $230,758 (9.65 percent); Littleton, $491,908, an increase of 38,805 (8.56 percent); and Monticello, $395,982, an increase of $34,701 (9.61 percent).
The poll hours on Tuesday June 9 are as follows: Hammond Town Office, 4 to 8 p.m.; Houlton (Gentle Memorial Building), 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Littleton Town Office, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Monticello Town Office, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
SAD 70 — The budget for 2015-16 is $6,502,765, which is a decrease of $224. (See accompanying story for details.)
