Peanut Carnival headlines vacation activities at Presque Isle rec

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The annual Peanut Carnival highlights the slate of activities offered by the Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department during spring vacation.

The Peanut Carnival will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Sargent Family Community Center, beginning at 1 p.m. Admission is $2 per person and participants will be allowed to use their special currency to play numerous carnival games offered on the premises. A bicycle raffle will close out the event at 3 p.m.

Other special activities during the week include, on Monday, April 17: pre-K and kindergarten number soccer from 9-10 a.m., grades 1-3 indoor soccer from 10:15-11:15 a.m., grades 4-6 boccerball from 1-3 p.m. and grades 7-9 ultimate frisbee from 3-5 p.m.

Tuesday, April 18: grades pre-K and kindergarten gym games from 9-10 a.m., grades 1-3 volleyball from 10:15-11:15 a.m., grades 4-6 volleyball from 1-3 p.m. and grades 7-9 flag football from 3-5 p.m.

Wednesday, April 19: pre-K and kindergarten number basketball from 9-10 a.m., grades 1-2 capture the flag from 10:15-11:15 a.m., grades 3-5 flag football from 1-3 p.m. and grades 7-9 boccerball from 3-5 p.m..

The County Dodgeball Tournament for grades 3-5 and grades 6-8 is slated for Friday, April 21 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Registration for dodgeball runs from 8-8:30 a.m.
