From the Bunkers – week of June 14, 2017

Another beautiful weekend at the golf course. As most of you know, the course has dried out, all areas have been mowed, and the greens are rolling true. School is almost out, so we will see a big uptick in the number of golfers on the course. Summer lake residents will be here soon.

Now is the time to play a few quick rounds.

The second week of men’s league was played on Monday. All golfers are having fun. The Ladies Association held it’s get together on Tuesday. There is still room for more women to join in the fun. Junior Golf clinics begin June 27 at 8 a.m. at the clubhouse. Call the clubhouse to enter your child or for more information.

Upcoming events include a couples 9-hole scramble on June 16. Singles are welcome and we will pair you up. We would like to have 8 to 10 couples teams. On June 25, our Golf for Life participants will have a 9-hole scramble paired with current members. It will begin at 2 p.m.

We had several of these last year and they were enjoyed by all players. On July 1 we will hold the annual Houlton High School Alumni scramble at 9 a.m. You can sign up your team or singles and pairs will be put together on teams. Sign up early as this event fills up quickly. For all these events please sign up in the clubhouse or call the proshop at 532-2662.

The Lakeside Restaurant has been cooking up a storm this spring. Weekends are busy so please call Nancy at 694-9494 to make your reservations.
