PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Lance Bernier of Boothbay has made it back-to-back titles in the Coca-Cola Spudland Open golf tournament.

Bernier shot a 4-under-par 140 for his 36 holes of play at Presque Isle Country Club Saturday, July 22, and Sunday, July 23.

Logan Thompson, a rising senior at Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln and a three-time Class C state champion, was the clubhouse leader by one stroke after 18 holes, but Bernier’s strong round Sunday gave him the championship by a whopping five strokes over Thompson in the 50th year of the event.
