OAKFIELD, Maine — An unidentified medical issue is to blame for a single vehicle crash on the Spaulding Lake Road in Oakfield on Saturday, according to the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office did not specify the nature of the medical issue.

The crash happened at around 2 p.m.

Deputy Sheriff Vance Palmer investigated the crash and determined that Stella Fagaley, 68, of Nashua, New Hampshire, was traveling eastbound on the Spaulding Lake Road when she went off the road into some trees.

The airbags deployed and Fagaley was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.

Houlton Ambulance transported Fagaley to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle sustained significant damage and was towed from the accident site. The Oakfield Fire Department and Deputy Sheriff Alishia Ledger assisted at the scene.
