Marijuana meeting slated for October 7

HOULTON, Maine — A public forum on marijuana will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Shiretown Inn and Suites, located on 282 North St.

The meeting will include an opportunity for community members to hear information on Maine’s adult use of cannabis law and its effect on the local area. Presenters include Mary Callison of Budding Potentials in West Newfield; Roxanne Gullikson Figaratto of Greener Pastures Holisticare in Portland; Hillary Lister, a political lobbyist for Maine Matters; Thomas Mourmouras of Old Orchard Beach, who is president of the Maine Commercial Growers Association; Houlton Police Chief Tim DeLuca and Allison Gooding, community education specialist for the Aroostook County Action Program.

The presentation will also be livestreamed on WHOU’s Facebook page.
