OAKFIELD, Maine — The Frank B. Holden Post No. 52 American Legion is looking to revive a time-honored tradition to honor local veterans.

According to Adjutant James Burton, the post is looking to bring back the tradition of honoring those who served their country by ringing of church bells and sounding of fire department horns or sirens for two minutes on Saturday, Nov. 11, starting at 11 a.m.

“It is hoped that this movement will breath new life into this once great tradition,” he said.
